Ponte Vecchio

We have finally slowed down long enough to get some paintng done. I have had this image of the famous bridge, Ponte Vecchio, in Florence, Italy on my mind since we were there 2 years ago. This is watercolor on canvass, like the San Gimiangiano with sunflowers paintng.

Now this is one that you REALLY need to get some prints made of...I will order one ASAP when you get them done!! And the AWH auction would probably like a couple, too!!

Thanks, Jen, for your encouragement.
The painting took me back to those feelings and images and smells of the bridge, the shops, and the markets of Florence. The fun of bargening with the shop owners that is a ritual that everyone gets into and expects to roll play.
Then we have to stop for cappuccino and Gelato to rest before we go to the "pig" market.
And stop again for more Gelato. FUN TIMES!

Tim asksed if I liked this picture or the San Gimango (sp?) one better. I told him I liked the other better and he was surprised. I told him if he had bought me a big diamond from on of the jewlers on the bridge that I might like it better....

I love this one too and never bought a stitch of jewlery from there...of course I was 19 and had no money...maybe if we go back, Aaron can remedy that problem and we can eat gelato!! I love Italy!
